Late New Year

Happy Belated New Year everybody…

Just as my mental time is always a little slow compared to the world time, my new year blog comes even slower.

I guess many of us has already gone weary of new years. Resolutions unresolved, things undone, goals unachieved, old skeletons still in the closet, new ones just keep piling in… year after year. At least for me. Tens of old email still in my inbox. My deviantart has got 300 over messages the other day, and i just cleared half of it (at least its something).  My room is still not cleaned. My painting is still not done. My designs still untouched. The candle is still not burnt. I have a journal that I’ve already thought about but is too lazy to write. My computer is not organised, not backedup. Just counting on my lucky stars now. Please shine on me….

Anyway, for those of you who feel that you have achieved something last year, congratulations, keep it up. For those of you enthusiastic about this year, wish you all the best. For those of you who are neither, do not despair. Like chicken little said, “today is a new day”, this year is also a new year, this week is a new week and this month, is a new month. Dont give up. If today didnt turn out right for you, fear not, cos “tommorow will be a better day.” (Han)Flower

Tommorow will
be a better day.

Fatty issues…

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2006

Just read the newspaper this evening and this doctor said that “teh tarik kills”. More and more malaysians are getting diabetes, high blood pressure, and stroke, and the patients are getting younger and younger. Well, no doubt about that. You see how fat our people are getting. You see the bellies in young people these days. Then he went on and said, “there is no doubt that Malaysia are the largest consumer of condensed milk in the world”. like Wow… but on a second thought, yeah… seriously. Our mamak stalls, cafe’s, canteens or whatever food outlets, whenever we order some Milo, coffee or tea, they pour in condensed milk as though it is free. And you get served with melted-milk-flavoured-sweets with a hint of milo/coffee/tea. So basically we drink condensed milk instead of milo/coffee/tea.

He also said that our neighbours, Indonesia and Thailand didnt have this kind of obsession. They have their coffee and tea, and chinese tea, without the condensed milk. So why do we have to? I dont know where it came from and how it started, but this definately has to end - drink makers should learn to put less condensed milk (and even sugar) in their drinks.

Actually, I think condensed milk should be banned even, and replace it with evaporated milk if u love milk so much. At least evaporated milk is much less sweeter. Well yeah, some people will miss it for a while, but they’ll get used to it.

Seriously, drink-makers should be educated on how much sweetener they should put in a cup of drink. I am constantly very irritated with the amount of sweetness they have to add to their cup of drink. Sometimes, it is so sweet that you can pour 1 drink into 2 cups and fill them up with water and it is still sweet. Its as though if their drinks are not sweet enough, the customers would shove the cups up their asses.

I often order my drink with a kurang manis. Sometiems, they seem to just ignore it. Most of the time, their kurang manis is still very manis indeed. I usually drink Milo outside. Since my stomach have problems digesting milk, I switched to ordering Milo-o, thinking that without condesnsed milk, it will be less sweet, but the truth is still nauseatingly sweet. So now, ive switched to Milo-O-kosong. Well, its not the most enjoyable thing to get to only enjoy 1 type of drink without the super sweetness, but it will have to do for now….
